A Good, Solid Plan
If you just stumbled in here and are wondering what’s going on, you should know that there’s an Oil Shock coming. In fact, it’s clomping up your front steps and about to knock upon your door. Pull out the earbuds and Listen for a moment: can’t you hear it coming? You will definitely hear it on April 30, 2007.
I don’t know how many friends Ol’ Mr. Oil Shock has with him, but probably Ms. Misery and that mischievous youngster, Chaos, and of course Mr. Economic Depression, the death of every party. So that’s bad.
If there is a good solid Plan in place to handle an Oil Shock with grace and dignity, we haven’t been able to find it. It’s probably right there on the shelf next to the Plan on “How To Handle Hurricanes That Strike New Orleans With Grace, Dignity and No Casualties.” Oh yeah.
We are not relying on this Plan, if it even exists. We are setting up a website where people can come together, report on what’s REALLY happening, and share stories, ideas, solutions. This is what ended working after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. So that is how we are preparing. The site is www.worldwithoutoil.org. The site goes live on April 30, 2007.
This site is part of that effort; this is where we publish phone messages. Of which there probably will be many. Watch the posts: I will announce the number whenever You-Know-Who puts down the controller long enough to set it up.
